Insulated Projects

Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre

Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre provided a comprehensive test of InTeM flexibility. The surface form is a truncated, highly curved eccentric cone on an inclined elliptical base. It covers an indoor activity pool with a waterslide that penetrates the membrane wall.

The insulated tensioned membrane roof at GESAC was constructed with a PTFE/glass outer membrane for full  weather protection and a sound absorbent PTFE/glass inner liner enveloping the opaque insulation blanket.

The blanket is patterned to the same form as the architectural coated fabric skins and is joined to form a homogeneous layer that stretches with the outer skins. It will not compress, settle or disintegrate.

The blanket is widely used on its own in general construction and so has a long proven track history of use in various indoor applications including humid environments such as Aquatic Centres and Ice Rinks.

The insulation blanket is compatible with both PTFE/glass fabrics and more affordable PVC/PES fabrics.

The insulation blanket is available in both an opaque and translucent form so InTeM can be total block out or allow some natural light transmission. Light transmission is dependent upon the translucency of each of the layers and the thickness of the insulation blanket.
