Melbourne Girls Grammar School

Designed by Sally Draper Architects with strong direction from Chris Tattersall of SEMF Engineering, Oasis was awarded the contract to build this structure at Melbourne Girls Grammar by Contract Control Services.

Fabricated from Ferrari T2 fabric, overlap joints were formed by abrasion of the T2 coating.

The striking form of the inverted cone links the conservative with the new at the school covering a courtyard enclosed by red brick facade and aluminium and glass panel cladding.

It won the 2011 ACASPA Annual Awards for Excellence in:

– Tension Structures, Coated Fabrics less than 500 sq.m and

– 2011 Overall Winning Entry

It also won the 2011 Outstanding Achievement for Tension Structures less than 600 sq.m at the IFAI International Achievement Awards
