The Grand Pavilion, Melbourne Showground’s

The Grand Pavilion is fabricated from PVC coated Polyester weave fabric and has a surface area of 10,000 sq.m. It is the largest single skin structure in Australia.

Oasis completed this structure for Multiplex in time for the 2006 Royal Melbourne Show and it is a permanent addition to the Showground’s providing a large weather proof multi purpose events space.

With just six internal support mast structures, the Pavilion provides an unhindered flexible exhibition and performance space. It has even been configured to work as an arena with seating for 5000 people.

The Pavilion was designed by Oasis, working closely with Jackson Architecture. The central masts are sculptural works but highly functional providing anchorages for internal rigging and access to high areas for lighting, sound systems and other services.

The Grand Pavilion is a Grand Example of how Oasis can work along side designers and builders to produce a multi-purpose structure with great versatility. The use of this structure continues to develop as the need arises.
